In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels supports the Maison de la danse for the presentation of Rapides by Bruno Benne.
Specialised in baroque dance and music, Bruno Benne is now renewing these arts with modernity by composing his own baroque art. After training in classical dance at the CRR in Toulouse, he went on to study contemporary dance at the CNSMD in Paris. His encounter with Baroque dance came in 2005, when he began long-term collaborations with two specialists in the style: Béatrice Massin and Marie-Geneviève Massé. As a performer, he has danced at the Opéra Royal de Versailles, the Opéra National de Paris and the Opéra National de Lyon, the Bolshoi - Moscow, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Cerventino Festival - Mexico, the Barbican Center - London, the Montreal Baroque Festival...
Right from the start of his career as a choreographer, he encountered and crossed paths with the American minimalism of Lucinda Childs, with whom he collaborated three times between 2013 and 2017. He went on to create several pieces with the Beaux-Champs company: SQUARE (2016), Caractères (2019), Rapides (2022) and Ornements (2016) for the Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin.
Winner of the Fondation Beaumarchais in 2015, Bruno Benne has been an associate artist of La Barcarolle / Spectacle Vivant Audomarois since 2021. A qualified dance teacher, Bruno Benne regularly teaches baroque dance, takes part in research projects, and speaks at symposia and conferences about his approach.
