In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Ruth Childs and Cécile Bouffard for their co-creation, Such a Devoted Bunch.
Cécile Bouffard is a visual artist born in 1987 who lives and works in Paris.
She has exhibited on numerous occasions: at Les Capucins contemporary art center in Embrun in 2019 (Pourquoi marcher quand on peut danser), the guadalajara90210 gallery in Mexico City (babosa babosa), Rond-Point Projects in Marseille (High by the phlegme), La Salle de bains in Lyon in 2022 (Basket case) and Treize in 2024 (Stinky Jade). Group exhibitions include El fantasma de Tenesse at the Marcelle Alix gallery in 2025, La fugitive at the Crédac in 2022, Molinier rose saumon at the Frac Aquitaine in 2023, Hors de la nuit des normes, hors de l'énorme ennui at the Palais de Tokyo in 2023, L'hymne aux murènes at Triangle in 2024 and a duo show with Crazy Toads at the CAC Brétigny in 2023.
Since 2021 she has collaborated with dancer and choreographer Ruth Childs on delicate people and Such a Devoted Bunch. Since 2018 she has led several lesbian collective projects, including VNOUJE within the Fusion collective and La Gousse, an effort toward lesbian culinary reclamation. She co-founded the production and exhibition space Pauline Perplexe and contributes to the Dacodyke ensemble with drawings for book covers (including Hystérique and AssociéEs), fanzines and t-shirts. She recently designed the scenography for the "femmage" exhibition dedicated to Nathalie Magnan at the Villa Arson. Her work brings to life a repertoire of objects from everyday life as well as sensual gestures. Hovering between the familiar and the strange, her pieces cultivate a concerted ambiguity between categories, functions and definitions of forms and uses.
