Eun-Me Ahn
Choreographer
Korea South

In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the Théâtre de la Ville and the Berliner Festspiele for the presentation of Post Orientalist Express by Eun-Me Ahn.
At once Korean and cosmopolitan, Eun-Me Ahn is an avant-garde figure who is invited to major international festivals. She cultivates the beauty of contrast, plays with pop colors, interlaces tradition and modernity, dance and video, to create unexpected yet captivating performances. After her compelling Dancing Grandmothers, she now turns her attention to the first adults of the third millennium, those born in 2000 under the sign of the Dragon and from various Asian countries, including Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan. The eccentric choreographer likes to position herself at the crossroads of dance and society. She worked with young dancers of Generation Z, deeply rooted in their time yet heirs to traditions that go back thousands of years. Blending humor and virtuosity, Eun-Me Ahn masterfully revisits their conventions, styles and attitudes to compose a jubilant choreographic fresco. In this snapshot of a generation, singularities emerge from regional traditions surviving in a globalized culture. Fueled by the vitality of the performers whose bodily prowess is at the service of an unbridled, surprising and unpredictable dance, her Dragons offer an astonishing panorama of current choreographic forms and sketch a portrait of contemporary Asia.
