Biennale de la danse de Lyon

From September 6 to 28, 2025, dance takes over Lyon, its metropolitan area and the entire Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region until October 17, for the 21st Biennale de la danse de Lyon, a festival abounding with movement, creativity and collaboration.

With 40 performances, including 24 new works and French premieres, this edition affirms dance as a common good, a space for emotion, experimentation and engagement. The Festival brings together significant figures from the world of contemporary dance as well as emerging avant-garde talent, all reflecting the richness of the today's dance scene.

Indoor and public performances, new venues, festive evenings, professional gatherings... Not to mention new projects, such as Brasil Agora!, a program honoring the Brazilian dance scene; Forum: an experimental space for non-European curators and artists; and, a partnership with the Centre Pompidou.

A highlight of the event, the Parade will bring together 3,000 participants in the streets of Lyon around the theme "Recycled Dances." Starting at Place des Terreaux, the Parade will make its way to Place Bellecour for a grand finale choreographed by Mehdi Kerkouche.

This edition invites you to rejoice together while reflecting on the challenges of the contemporary world and celebrating dance in all its forms!
