In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Némo Flouret for the creation of Derniers Feux and its presentation at the Festival d'Avignon.
Fireworks hold a fascinating ambiguity. Their detonation evokes both celebration and war. They bring people together and they surprise, mixing fear with excitement. Drawing on images associated with fireworks and collective memory, Derniers Feux focuses on the moment before explosion, the suspended time from which dreams emerge. Surrounded by dancers and musicians, Némo Flouret conjures up this sense of turmoil, this gray zone, battered by opposing winds, capturing all the beauty of pyrotechnics: expectation, anticipation, hope, frustration, breathlessness. To the sound of trumpets, melodies and broken rhythms, their persistent, continuous dances exalt the present, as if this show they piece together were their last ever.
