Le même corps, jamais pareil

This unconventional project is based on the performances Las Cosas (The Things), Íntimo y personal (Intimate and Personal) and Memoria (Memory) by major artist and performer Esther Ferrer. The work starts from the simplest common threads, such as things, thoughts and the passing of time, in order to measure the rifts of reality against the body. This subject is at once a singular body that can be documented, assessed, and recounted through stories and memories, and a body that represents all bodies, scrutinized in their malleability through both individual and collective forms. If the same is always charged with otherness, Latifa Laâbissi becomes one body among others — experiencing time, cataloguing objects, traversing spaces. She creates an alternative history where the body links visual arts, performance and dance, and intimacy and politics. She reworks Esther Ferrer's performances exactly as they were created; that is to say, never the same.
