Swedish choreographer Mats Ek brings the disciplined dynamism of his Rite of Spring to the Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon. This reinterpretation of the Ballet Russes' iconic work was first staged in 1984 and later reinterpreted for the English National Ballet in 2022. Blending precision and expressiveness, with kicks and twirls set to Stravinsky's original score, this version bears the imprint of Ek's contemporary take on classical technique.
