Calico Mingling Repertory

In 2026, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is organizing, in collaboration with the Joyce Theater's New York Center for Creativity & Dance, the workshop Calico Mingling Repertory taught by Sharon Milanese and Caitlin Scranton as part of the Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival in New York.
Calico Mingling is a quartet comprised of intersecting walking patterns. Participants will use a paper score, or map, to follow an individual trajectory of lines and arcs that interact with the other dancers in space. A beautiful example of minimalist principles, Calico Mingling uses pedestrian vocabulary to weave intricate spatial relationships.
The workshop is taught by Sharon Milanese and Caitlin Scranton (Lucinda Childs Dance Company).

Dance Reflections is also supporting The Watermill Center for the presentation of I was sitting on my patio this guy appeared I thought I was hallucinating, reimagined for The Watermill Center's annual summer festival, by Charles Chemin, based on the original production by Robert Wilson and Lucinda Childs.
