Jan 23rd - 24th, 2025 Partner Maison de la danse

In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting the Maison de la Danse's Histoire(s) de la danse #4 program, which includes a screening of Le roi danse, performances of student works and a presentation of Rapides by Bruno Benne.

Like Francine Lancelot and Béatrice Massin, Bruno Benne is among the rare choreographers with a passion for Baroque style. The astonishing artist rises to the challenge of both keeping this heritage alive and drawing energy from it to fuel contemporary creation. In Rapides, the choreography is conceived as a dual mirroring between 18th-century and contemporary arts. Like a brilliant reflecting pool with dancing, dazzling jets, the piece reveals and brings to light the modernity and renewal of Baroque creation. In total harmony with Handel's Water Music, reinterpreted by contemporary composer Youri Bessières, the ten dancers perform movements from embellished whirls to spirited spurts, echoing water flowing from the fountains of the Grand Siècle and roiling torrents. A joy for the eyes and ears.
