Emmanuelle Huynh
In 2025, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels is supporting Emmanuelle Huynh for the creation of unedansecontinue.
In this piece, Emmanuelle Huynh investigates the geological substratum of her work since 1995 as both a conceptual desire and an organic, vital overflow.
Accompanied by the loops and soundscapes of composer ErikM, the illuminating films of Caty Olive, playwright Gilles Amalvi, collaborator Catherine Legrand and five committed dancers, Emmanuelle Huynh reactivates cycles of movement and choreographic situations.
From Múa (1995) to Nuée (2021)—two solos that trace an inner journey of dance amid doubt and darkness—including Augures (2012), a piece marked by the motif of descent, Emmanuelle Huynh's choreographic practice moves in a continual back-and-forth between questioning forms of dance and branching out to the world beyond. This expanded vision of dance remains grounded in the sensory world, opening up its possibilities—its utopias and aporias—while interrogating the shifts and structures of contemporary society.
unedansecontinue explores the unconscious dimension of gesture. This meticulous interpretive work exposes the architectural symphony of body parts forming a singular, enigmatic being: a stratified, plural body, rooted in history. A body that generates new gestures, inventing new forms of existence.
