Choreographers Nacera Belaza and Katerina Andreou share a passion for dance. They respond to each other in a diptych designed for the dancers of the Lyon Opera Ballet, two creations that bring together multiple influences.

In her latest piece for the dancers of the Lyon Opera Ballet, Nacera Belaza uses the almost hypnotic repetition of gesture and movement to create an experience of dispossession: letting go to become more aware of our bodies' presence in the world; making ourselves available, listening to what our bodies have to tell us.

WE NEED SILENCE by Katerina Andreou directly echoes this approach. Stunning our senses with extreme physical intensity and pulsing house music beats, this collective piece, based on the solo BSTRD, offers a paradoxical experience: listening to what we no longer hear and seeing what we no longer see. In other words, this is a performance of imposing silence through sonic and physical saturation.
